Be A Part of The Tree Farm

Through the years, Customers have come to enjoy what The Tree Farm has to offer - a diversity of fresh produce available for picking in quantities ranging from supper to canning quantities in a scenic outdoor setting. A few years ago, it became evident that to continue to provide fresh vegetables and recreation, the way in which the farm operates needed to change – to begin to evolve in a way that places less physical demand on the elderly who operate the Farm. Since the farm opened for U-pick, the only way to interact with us was to come as a Customer. That is still the way most people have supported the farm. With the need for change in how we operate, there are two additional ways in which you can help to support the successful continuation of The Tree Farm: Become a Member or Volunteer to help on the farm.

1. Continue to be or become a Customer:

If you are happy just coming to pick vegetables and to enjoy the fresh air and the view, continue what you have been doing. All are welcome to pick produce at The Tree Farm. Visit the farm at any time we are open, follow the instructions listed on our “Information Sheet” and enjoy the experience and the fresh vegetables you harvest. By being a Customer and cooperating with the way the farm operates, you are supporting the farm and ensuring its successful continuation.

2. Become a Member:

Members support the farm by purchasing an annual membership up front to help cover costs of running the farm. The annual fee for the 2023 growing season is $175 per household (defined as those living at the same address). Members get a 50% discount on the produce they pick (excluding honey). The discount applies to produce picked for personal use only. As a member, you have the additional benefit of being notified when crops of interest to you become available for picking. Members may also have access to crops not in sufficient supply for general ‘customer’ sale (an example for 2023 is sweet corn). Click on the link below to fill out our 2023 Membership Form.

3. Become a Volunteer:

Volunteers are an important part of our team. Volunteers support the farm by participating in various hands-on-tasks including weeding, transplanting, tilling, equipment maintenance and other tasks. First-time Volunteers for the 2023 season will receive produce at no charge after completing 16 hours of volunteer work. Hours are flexible – just let us know when you are available to help on the farm. If you enjoy ‘working’ outside and want to help us raise vegetables for U-pick, consider becoming a Volunteer.
